Dr. Amy Iaquinta and her thoughts about "Low Force" chiropractic:
I practice what is known as “Low Force Chiropractic” utilizing an instrument called the Arthrostim. I started practicing this way many years ago because I felt like the typical style of adjusting was frequently more traumatic to the patient. This type of treatment is effective for anyone but it is ideal for pregnant women, seniors, children and post-surgery patients.
I find that using this instrument allows for more precise, efficient and often times instantly, dramatic results. You won’t feel or hear the usual “cracking “ type of sound when I adjust you. The Arthrostim allows me to treat you in completely comfortable, pain free positions which enables you to be totally relaxed. This is opposed to being “twisted” into a position that causes the muscles to be more tense and harder to move.
It’s much easier to align the spine when your muscles are working with you instead of “fighting” the adjustment. Many people are restricted in movements because of acute pain. Instead of the patient having to move into an uncomfortable position, I can move the instrument to get a precise adjustment and achieve results faster.
One thing I love about this type of adjusting is that it can be used on the largest, most muscular man all the way down to a small child or even the most frail senior. It’s called “Low Force Chiropractic” however it really could be called “No Trauma Chiropractic” because it is just as powerful, if not more so in obtaining amazing results. I believe this is because of the mechanism by which it works. It delivers a series of very fast, almost vibratory type of motion instead of a high-velocity thrust.
